I thought I would share with you my experience with Green Glue.

With the first layer of 13mm SoundChek up the room was absolutely dreadful to be in. There was some much reverberation and echo that it was a bit uncomfortable to be in for long periods. At that time I was thinking how much sound treatment is this going to take to get under control!!

Anyway after the first day we had the second layer on the ceiling and four sheets on the walls and the echo etc had already reduce by a far amount. On the second day I was having lunch with the plasters (Grid Ceilings who I highly recommend) and one of them said "you can really notice the difference in here now". This is a guy that has no vested interest in Green Glue and was just making an observation. I hadn't said anything to bias his opinion but I was pleased to see it wasn't just me that had noticed the improvement.

The room will still need some treatment but nowhere near as much as I had expected before the second layer of SoundChek went on. I don't believe the second layer itself made the difference but rather the Green Glue damping the plaster board down. I really like a product that I purchase to do one job (sound proof) and it gives me a "free" bonus in another area (sound treatment). I had conflicting views on the sound treatment benefits of Green Glue but in the end I'm very glad I listened to you.

I'm very impressed with the product and very glad I went with it over resilient channel!
